Portland, OR is pretty much mecca for vintage clothing lovers. I've got my favorite shops around town but my number one pic for sewing inspiration is Living Threads Vintage on SW 10th and Taylor.
Their garments are all authentic and in impeccable condition. In addition to this rad 1970's pantsuit I saw a black silk skirt from the 1900's and two unbelievable 1950's dress suits. It was interesting to see the stitching progression, from the mostly hand stitched skirt, to machine stitches and pinked salvages on the dress suits, to surging on this green pantsuit. Still, each piece had hand sewn hook and eye closures, slip stitched linings and darts tied at the point.
It seriously felt like an honor just trying these pieces on. I can only hope my garments will see a similar happy home in their future!
